Walking fun

After a long week of training and testing in Ohio at the headquarters, we have a leisurely weekend off. We get to enjoy the crisp colors of Fall in gorgeous Ohio.
Today we combined our walking exercise with shopping at the outlets in Lodi.
The outlets are at The Lodi Station. There is a working train that runs all around the place.
Later we concluded our walking at the rest stop near by.
We both logged over 3 miles today.

Walking

Tonight because of our truck being tested by our company we are staying at a hotel.
So we took advantage of their fitness room.

We both walked on the treadmills at an ever increasing incline and speed. Pops went nuts on that thing. His fitness level is pretty great.
I messed a little with the incumbent bike too and we both tried the elipticals but we got our full workouts on the treadmills.

21 in 21

Once again Pops and I have committed to to 21/21 walking challenge on www.awakeningsfitness.com
The idea is to walk at least 1 mile a day for 21 days. The thought is that anything done for 21 days in a row becomes a habit.
This is the challenge that sparked Pops in the beginning. He then sparked me. At first I could only do 1/2 mile a day, some days only a quarter mile. Now I am averaging 2-2.5 every day.
Our personal goals is to walk at least 2 miles in each of the 48 continuous states.
We have done 34 so far.

Still at it

Pops and I are still dieting and walking. We are still losing, only about a pound per week. But steady, slow progress is still progress.

I have only missed walking 6 times since starting this diet. And tonight was my first pain free walk.
I am averaging 2.5 miles per day now, with my goal set for 2 a day.
Hopefully tomorrow I will get to walk with our good friend from Missouri.

Our weight is going down steadily and we still love this plan. I have never said that about any diet before.
I pray we can continue.

Week one menus

New start

Today we are starting fresh with a group on Facebook called Yransforming the Temple.
So it is Day one again for us.
Here was our 170 calorie lunch:

We took a break from driving this evening in New York. We walked in a Walmart parking lot, 3.25 miles. Look what we saw overhead while walking:

This was our supper. It came in at around 240 calories.

Off week

We walked near Rochester, NY this evening. It was a nice evening. Pops found his first dollar bill while walking and the funny thing is, when we first started out tonight I told him that we would find one.

Today's finds.

Week off

It is our week off from dieting and yes, this IS part of the diet plan. So we worked yesterday. We finished up 2 back to back coast to coast runs. We drove over 7000 miles in one week. We are so tired and ready for a day off.
We got some needed repairs and some routine maintainence done on the truck. Then I cleaned the inside living compartment. Then we restocked groceries. Then we slept and slept. Today we went inside for breakfast and we got our laundry done.
I cooked some of our favorite meals to stock the refrigerator. Then this evening we went for a walk. We are in Fultonville, NY along the Mohawk River which made for a nice walk. We walked 3 miles.

Day 74

I woke up in Colorado. We wanted to get some walk time in this state and Nevada today because we didn't have any in either of those 2 states. So Pops found a nice Walmart in Rifle, Co and we walked the paved walking trail behind the store.
Later when I was done driving for the day, I parked at Walmart in Mesquite, NV to walk more.
For supper I cut up 3 small zucchini, some mushrooms and steamed those. Then I added a can of stewed diced tomatoes and a package of john Soules chicken strips. Once that was heated through, I divided it in half and sprinkled with grated parmasean cheese. It totaled 375 calories for a full plate.

Day 73

It was a really nice day today. I slept well and my work today was peaceful. It is the 3rd day of low calories and I forgot to take my vitamins the last 2 days. No wonder I was so tired yesterday.
Tonight's supper was very good and slightly higher in calories.
